To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), taking place February 21-22, 2017, organisers have unveiled a series of city tours as a new addition to the hosted buyer programme.
Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) has partnered with a selection of venues, accommodation and attractions to launch ten Melbourne City Experiences, showcasing the city’s culture, environment, cuisine and hospitality offerings.
Each excursion visits three locations, with itinerary options including: a riverfront brunch; a meditation journey at the Novotel on Collins; a design-your-own-ride experience at Luna Park; a helicopter tour; and a custom tour of Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Karen Bolinger, CEO for MCB, says the participation of so many partners “exemplifies how collaborative Melbourne is”.
She adds: “business events are the highest yielding sector of the visitor economy, delivering A$9.8billion (about US$7.3bn) to the Victorian economy annually”.
The hosted buyer programme for AIME 2017 also features education and peer-to-peer networking sessions, appointments with event suppliers from across the globe, and complimentary travel and accommodation.
