A PHUKET hotel popular with meetings and incentive groups has introduced a new outdoor event concept featuring a tiered, landscaped lawn leading to a stage.
The Coliseum Steps at the Slate Phuket – a member of the Design Hotel collections – is designed by celebrated hotel architect Bill Bensley, and joins the Coliseum Garden as part of the property’s al fresco venues.
The Coliseum comprises five tiers that cascade down to a central stage, overlooking a lotus pond. The amphitheatre-style venue spanning moer than 975 square metres also features an extensive lawn.
Up to four tables can be accommodated on each tier, so event planners can create unique gala dinners and cocktails, awards evenings or presentations, explained David Barrett, event consultant for The Slate.
The new outdoor venue also comes with a fully equipped bar and the stylish Rebar lounge at the top tier. The Coliseum can be accessed via dual entrances through Rebar or at the garden level.
