On 4 December 2014, the Wyndham Grand Xian bade farewell to media guests from Hong Kong and China with an Alice in Wonderland-themed banquet, complete with holiday games and giveaways. Guests were invited to toss a hoop over a spread of gifts that included sweets, Christmas cookies and gingerbread houses. Following the games, a five course meal was served by waiters dressed as fictional characters from children's story books. The Wyndham Grand opened in August 2014 and is Xian's newest hotel.
