ORGANISERS of a leading animated film festival have teamed up with travel technology platform HotelPlanner as its flagship event returns to Singapore after a two-year break from in-person conventions.
Singapore-based Sozo runs Anime Festival Asia along with several events in the field of Japanese popular music and digital media. The event returns to a physical format at Suntec Singapore, November 25-27.
“This is our first collaboration with an Anime and J-Culture event and we are honoured to be supporting the momentous return of AFA Singapore. As the largest J-Culture and ACG Festival in Southeast Asia, AFA Singapore recorded one if its largest crowd of about 120,000 attendees in 2019, before the pandemic left the industry to a standstill.
The three-day C3 AFA Singapore 2019 event attracted 120,000 attendees and 168 exhibitors.
Lee said that as economies rapidly reopen, a designated platform for hotel stays offered more convenience and capture an additional market in live events.
