Vietnam vows tourism revival

Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi agree to work with Central Vietnam provinces while country’s airlines seek ways to improve links and package ideas

VIETNAM’S cities and provinces have agreed to join forces in boosting offerings for visitors and encouraging the country’s airline networks in readiness for a post-Covid revival in tourism.

An MoU was signed between Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and provinces in Central Vietnam after the Tourism Linkages Conferences and Forums event at Hoiana Integrated Resort, Quang Nam, November 27-28.

The forum at the coastal resort south of Da Nang also saw “special participation” by Vietnam Airlines Group, Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways to create packages and other offers for flight connections between both ends of the country and Central Vietnam.

A revival theme of “Heritage Now, Fly Now” was chosen for the conference and to highlights mutual support between tourism associations and businesses throughout Vietnam.

An online forum was also hosted by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in coordination with provincial departments of culture, sports and tourism and the Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Delegates agreed to promote the domestic tourism market and improve the competitiveness of Vietnam’s travel products internationally once the Covid pandemic comes under control.
