SUSTAINABILITY and establishing Thailand as a regional business events powerhouse will be cornerstones when the kingdom hosts a key meeting of Asia exhibition industry leaders.
The Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) AGM 2023 is due to gather 155 member associations from 19 countries and regions in Bangkok.
The announcement follows ICCA’s decision to choose Thailand for the congress organisers’ association AGM in November.
Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, said the AFECA AGM 2023 would be held under the theme Asia Unites along with discussion based around “people, profit and the planet”.

Materials at the event will be sourced from local producers and farmers, and must be produced with efficient use of resources and environmental-friendly processes. TCEB said this would include sustainable practices in destinations and transport.
TCEB said the exhibitions industry AGM would also be an opportunity to demonstrate Thailand’s potential as a host of international business events and attract new international exhibitions.
“Thailand has always been an important MICE destination in Asia and at the forefront on developing the Asian MICE industry,” said Vincent Lim, AFECA resident.
“I believe that with the support from TCEB, AFECA AGM 2023 would be a platform for Asian MICE leaders to continue raising the profile of the Asian MICE industry on the global stage and will also definitely be a marvellous experience for all members.”
