DRONES and other eVTOL technology vital in the development of electric Vertical Take-Off and landing – such as air taxis and deliveries – were the subject of conference in China designed and built by Pico.
The Hong Kong-headquartered experiential events company’s Beijing team rolled out activation services including conference management, commercial exhibition operations, along with full design and construction for the 2025 Low Altitude Economic Development Conference.

The conference and exhibition in Wuhu is a satellite event of the World Manufacturing Convention and is organised by Anhui Provincial Government.
Design and construction included transforming more than 1,000 square metres of conference space (the equivalent of five doubles’ tennis courts) into an event rated by organisers as a milestone gathering for specialists in the global low-altitude economy.

Branding
Pico applied its event activation capabilities to provide hall branding, facilities for speakers, breakout rooms, media conferences and an outdoor exhibition park.
“The result was a seamless experience that delivered on the event’s themes of ‘Innovation’ and ‘Safety’, as well as the client’s requirements to convene, exhibit, demonstrate, lead and practically apply,” a spokespersons for Pico said.
The event also extended China’s low-altitude economy market to partners in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Conference Hall Solutions
To satisfy the “convene” requirement, the team provided a suite of halls, break-out rooms, and a meeting management service. LED walls, AV systems and intelligent lighting were engineered to support more than 15 keynotes, forums and speeches.
Stewards and stage managers provided real-time guidance to speakers and delegates to ensure that every session was on schedule. Recognising the linguistic diversity of delegates from Asia and the Middle East, Pico deployed a multilingual digital platform that synchronised agenda, transcripts and collateral in real time.

Outdoor exhibition
The concepts of  “exhibit and demonstrate” were fused into a single integrated experience at the venue’s outdoor precinct. Themed exhibition zones were created for fixed-wing aircraft, drones, eVTOL and aviation hardware from Honeywell, DJI, Joby and other manufacturers and suppliers.
Drawing inspiration from real-life scenarios, Pico designed demo spaces in which brands could perform practical demonstrations of products serving logistics, delivery, rescue and tourism services.
Result
The 2025 Low Altitude Economic Development Conference attracted participants from more than 70 industry brands and 40-plus institutions from around the globe.
