HONG KONG is to host a conference organised by the World Tourism Cities Federation as part of an event expected to attract 400 delegates from more than 40 countries and regions.
The 2025 WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit is scheduled for next April and it will be the first time the federation has brought its conference to Hong Kong.
The event will follow IBTM Asia Pacific next march and an increasing number of conferences that have returned to the city since Covid restrictions are lifted in March 2023.
Hong Kong’s hosting of the summit was announced at the World Conference on Tourism Cooperation and Development 2024 held in Beijing on September 12. Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) executive director Dane Cheng, and Yang Shuo, director general of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and secretary general of the WTCF, signed an agreement to stage the 2025 Summit.

Hong Kong SAR Government culture sports and tourism secretary, Kevin Yeung, and Beijing vice mayor and executive vice-chair of the WTCF council, Sima Hong, witnessed the signing.
The 2025 WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit will feature keynote speeches, tourism showcases, tourism fairs and exhibitions, promoting co-operation among member cities and the travel trade from member regions.
