CIMX taps into buyer powerhouse

AN INAUGURAL business events trade show in Beijing has secured a partnership with one of China’s leading procurement networks as organisers seek to strengthen corporate buyer participation.

The China International MICE Exchange (CIMX), which is due to take November 3-5 in Beijing, will work with Sourcing China to bring a delegation of qualified corporate decision-makers to the event as hosted buyers.

The move by organisers Messe Berlin China is designed to create business opportunities between international suppliers and Chinese enterprises, while broadening the show’s reach into the corporate procurement sector.

“As more Chinese companies accelerate their global expansion, the procurement of international conferences, business events, and business travel is becoming increasingly complex,” said Jennifer Gao, Vice Chair of Sourcing China.

“By bringing together high-quality destinations, venues, hotels, and MICE suppliers from around the world, CIMX provides corporate procurement managers with a centralised, efficient, and trustworthy ecosystem that significantly improves supplier selection efficiency while reducing procurement costs and communication complexity.”

The partnership highlights how corporate procurement teams are becoming increasingly involved in business travel, events and international engagement activities as Chinese companies expand overseas.

CIMX organisers believe this shift is creating demand for a dedicated marketplace where buyers can engage directly with destinations, venues, hotels and other suppliers.

“As corporate sourcing becomes more integrated across functions, we see a clear need for platforms that connect decision-makers with global suppliers in a structured and efficient manner,” said Nikolaos Swoch, Director of CIMX at Messe Berlin China.

“CIMX is designed to meet this need by creating a focused environment where requirements can be translated into real business engagement. The collaboration with Sourcing China strengthens this by bringing highly relevant corporate stakeholders with buying capacity directly into the CIMX marketplace,” Swoch said.

Take 5: Beijing by Park and River

Developed by Messe Berlin China, CIMX is a new trade show focused on the meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and business travel sectors. Organisers say Sourcing China will recruit and host a curated group of corporate buyers who will participate in pre-scheduled one-to-one appointments and networking activities with exhibitors from China and overseas.

According to Messe Berlin China, the collaboration will also connect procurement executives, corporate buyers and industry experts through conferences, executive forums, training programmes and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Sourcing China is one of the country’s leading professional procurement organisations, focusing on strategic sourcing, procurement innovation and supply chain development. Through its corporate network, it provides Messe Berlin China with access to senior decision-makers involved in purchasing and supplier selection.

Organisers say CIMX will be promoted across Sourcing China’s network, raising awareness of the event among senior corporate stakeholders involved in business event planning, travel management and global sourcing activities.

CIMX 2026 is scheduled alongside the CIMX Conferenc, November 3-5, at China National Convention Centre Phase 2 in Beijing
