The Park Hyatt opens in Busan

Busan The Park Hyatt Busan officially opened its doors this week and became the Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s tenth property in Asia Pacific. Welcoming its first guests on the 26th February, the hotel is also the group’s second property in Korea, following on from the Park Hyatt Seoul – opened in 2005.

Located in the heart of Busan, Korea’s second largest city, this new Park Hyatt boasts over 3400 sq ft of conference space spread across 14 dedicated rooms. The hotel’s largest space can cater for 400 event and conference attendees.

The Hyatt Hotels Corporation has outlined that each of the exhibition halls have been carefully designed in order to offer optimal MICE facilites. Audio and visual systems are, as expected, state of the art. It’s the venue’s 15 foot high ceilings, though, that frame one of the hotel’s most striking features – floor to ceiling windows that offer breathtaking views over Busan.

Located next to the world’s largest shopping mall, Shinsegae Centrum City, the hotel further solidifies Korea’s second largest city as a port of major significance in South East Asia. As a transport hub, Busan’s strategic location makes it ideal for any exploration of the territory and the city has grown to become a thriving interchange location. The hotel is also close to the Busan Exhibition and Conference Centre (BEXCO), making it an ideal base for attendees of larger scale conferences.

Designed by Japanese firm, Super Potato, the hotel offers guests what it calls: ‘residential comfort.’ The firm claims the use of natural materials and luxurious finishes complement the hotel’s three floor spa, open sushi bar and lounge.

Larry Tchou, Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s group president said: “We are seeing a booming hotel scene in Busan thanks to increased international conventions and festivals.”
