SUSTAINABILITY in the Asia events industry has a familiar name at the top once again: Chris Brown, Founder and CEO of EnviroEvents, has secured the Distinguished Sustainability Leadership Award at the 2025 Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) Sustainability Awards – his second consecutive win.
“ReThink HK demonstrates that live events designed with purpose, people, planet and profit in mind can be instrumental in uniting professional communities to drive innovation, ignite collaboration and fast-track progress towards a common goal,” Brown said shortly after receiving the accolade.
“When that common goal is the future liveability and prosperity of our cities, I cannot think of a more rewarding challenge.”
The recognition caps a stellar year for EnviroEvents, organiser of the annual ReThink HK Sustainable Business Forum & Solutions Expo, which also scooped three company awards, including Distinction in the SME Category and Excellence in Economic Sustainability Initiative. It follows last year’s breakthrough when the firm became the first event organiser to win an HKMA Sustainability Award.

Launched in 2020 amid the pandemic, ReThink HK has grown into Hong Kong’s flagship sustainability event, drawing 9,500 attendees in 2025, up 12 per cent year-on-year, and featuring 557 speakers across 181 sessions.
Brown said the event goes beyond dialogue: it channels delegate fees into local NGO projects via the ReThink Foundation and has pioneered initiatives such as Better Stands, aimed at eliminating disposable exhibition structures.
Brown’s back-to-back individual honours underscore his company’s in shaping Hong Kong’s ESG landscape.
The event is gearing up for its seventh edition in 2026, with a focus on Cities, Energy, Impact, Innovation and Resources.
