PENANG is stepping up its role in the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign with a message that champions the state’s business events appeal along with sustainability efforts.
The “Penang Inspiring Meetings x Visit Malaysia 2026” initiative was officially launched by the state’s convention bureau at Penang Waterfront Convention Centre this week.
At the heart of Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau (PCEB)’s campaign is a commitment to conservation, highlighted by its support for the Penang Turtle Sanctuary in the national park beach area of Pantai Kerachut.
This collaboration demonstrates how business events can deliver not just economic benefits but also positive contributions to Penang’s environment and community.
As we approach Visit Malaysia Year 2026, this campaign highlights Penang’s readiness to welcome the world.”

The initiatives by signal the state’s ambition to balance economic growth with ecological responsibility. A PCEB spokesman said they were also aimed at strengthening Penang’s position as a premier destination for MICE groups while supporting the national Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
“We aim to elevate Penang’s reputation not only as a premier meetings and incentives destination but also as a hub where meaningful connections and sustainable impact are created,” Gunasekeran added.

PCEB said the turtle emblem and mascot used in the campaign represented endurance, balance and harmony with nature to mirror the convention bureau’s approach to developing Penang as a global business events hub.
Support will be expanded by PCEB in 2026 to new sectors, fostering diverse, high-impact business events that align with Penang’s vision for sustainable and inclusive growth. A spokesperson said this included enhanced mechanisms for meetings, conferences, and exhibitions that promote innovation, knowledge exchange, and social responsibility.
