St Regis Langkawi is set to open the luxury brand’s first property in Malaysia on April 6, 2016.
Located on the island of Langkawi, the all-suite hotel will have 85 rooms and four private villas ranging in size from 62 sqm to 700 sqm.
Over 1,082 sqm of event space will be on offer, including the 300 sqm Astor Ballroom, signature restaurant L’Orangerie, specialty over-water restaurant Kayuputi and the Salon Lounge. An additional five meeting rooms can host groups between six and 200.
Opened in March 2015, the Langkawi International Convention Centre (LICC) is a short drive from the St Regis Langkawi and within walking distance of the Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa. The centre has a 1,660 sqm grand ballroom which seats up to 1,200 and a range of ancillary meeting rooms. The LICC will host the Asean Leaders Summit in April.
Starwood is set to open the St Regis Kuala Lumpur and Le Meridién Putrayaya in June 2016. The hotel group currently operates 10 properties in Malaysia, in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Puchong and Langkawi.
