SMX Convention Center Davao debuts on September 28

DAVAO The Philippines beefs up its meeting venue arsenal, welcoming the SMX Conventon Center Davao on September 28.

Davao City is the archipelago’s third premier gateway – after Manila and Cebu – and the largest city on the island of Mindanao.


Trade hall

Located on the third level of SM Lanang Premier Mall, which also opens on the same day, this sister facility of SMX Convention Center Manila is the first SMX-branded entity outside the capital city. SMX Convention Specialist Corporation runs both operations as well as the Trade Halls in SM Megamall Mandaluyong City and Cebu City. 

Providing accommodation to customers of SMX Davao will be the 204-room Park Inn by Radisson that’s linked to the mall.


Pre-function lobby

SM Lanang Premier, located in the northern Metro Davao is 2.4km from Davao International Airport, which currently hosts only one international airline, Silkair of Singapore but numerous services of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Airphil Express and Zest Air.

MICECON, the trade show highlighting the Philippines' potential for meetings, incentives and exhibitions, is scheduled to be held at SMX Davao in March 2013.

Next on the SMX’ opening list is the SMX Convention Center Taguig in the SM Aura Mall at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila, with three function spaces and eight breakaway rooms.
