Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) is bringing their Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) certification program to Macau in September.
SITE is launching a two-day course, due to take place September 13-14, 2016, for students and professionals to gain the CIS qualification.
The event is being sponsored by Macau Meetings, Incentives and Special Events Association (MISE).
"The 2 day CIS program is a great opportunity for Macau MICE industry practitioners [and] emerging professionals to acquire knowledge in an efficient manner and enter this specialised segment of meetings and events," says Rebecca Choi, vice president of MISE.
MISE members will be eligible for reduced enrolment rates.
The program covers basic industry knowledge and the marketing and sales side of the business.
Participants need no prior experience; it is an entry-level course.
Session instructors include Fernando Compean, President and CEO of Avanti Meetings and Incentives (Mexico) and Bruce Tepper, Vice President of Joselyn, Tepper & Associates.
The course includes 12 hours of teaching time and a compulsory exam (conducted in English). Attendees will receive a certificate on successful completion of the program.
The fees are as follows:
Student MISE Members: MOP 500
Industry Professional MISE Members: MOP 1,500
Non-Members: MOP 3,000
Teaching will take place at the Macau Business Support Centre (MBSC) of Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPM).
"MISE Association is very thankful for IPIM’s sponsorship and venue support," said Choi.
"We plan to organise other certification programs in line with Macau Government’s initiative in developing and attracting international meetings and events to Macau."
