Sheraton Macao completes second tower

MACAU Sheraton Macao Hotel, Cotai Central marked the completion of its Earth Tower, bringing the hotel’s total room count to 3,896.

The Earth Tower adds 2,067 new guestrooms and suites to the hotel, making it the largest hotel both in Macao and in the global portfolio of Starwood Hotel and Resorts Worldwide.

With its planned room inventory achieved, the property is expected to go more aggressively after corporate groups for incentives, meetings, conferences and other events.

“With each new milestone in the development of Cotai Strip Resorts, Macau becomes one step closer to establishing itself as a world centre of tourism and leisure,” said Edward Tracy, president and chief executive of Sands China. “Our innovative integrated resort concept provides Macau visitors with a full spectrum of accommodation, retail, dining, entertainment and MICE offerings, which we are confident will transform Cotai into one of Asia’s top destinations for business and leisure travellers.”

He added: “The wide range of products and services provided by our integrated resort city will be key drivers in the diversification of Macau’s tourism industry.”

The hotel can handle large convention groups with its 4.891 sqm Kashgar Grand Ballroom, which seats up to 5,000 in a theatre-style set up. The grand ballroom is divisible into 16 smaller rooms. There are also nine other junior ballrooms that can accommodate group sizes as small as 12 to a maximum of 2,000 guests, theatre-style.

Sheraton Macao Hotel, which has over 15,000 sqm of flexible meeting space, has just launched a new MICE offer. To be eligible for this special offer, organisers must book their event within 12 months of their first event and the booking must be of similar dates, stay pattern and size.

As an extra incentive for groups booked with over 100 rooms at peak, organisers can choose one attractive option to enhance their meeting:

  • Double the complimentary suite upgrade allocation per standard hotel contract
  • One complimentary guest room drop
  • One executive helicopter transfer (return) between Hong Kong and Macau, plus on-ground round-trip limousine transfers
  • 10 tickets to “The House of Dancing Water”
  • Complimentary Sheraton FIT Meeting inclusions designed to recharge and energise

Groups can choose a half-day package from HK$480 (US$62) per person, which covers the use of a meeting room with standard AV equipment, welcome coffee and tea, a choice of morning or afternoon coffee break, along with a deluxe lunch set or buffet lunch.

A full-day package starts from HK$600 (US$77) per person, which includes all offerings from the half-day package plus the additional half-day meeting room usage as well as morning and afternoon coffee break.
