The Incentive, Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP) has announced its keynote speaker for its forthcoming conference in Shanghai.
Sun Weijia, director general, counsellors’ office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China will explain the “Belt and Road” projects impact on the meetings, incentives and business events.
China’s National Development & Reform Commission is managing the initiative, which involves the building of six major economic corridors. These would provide secure and efficient transport routes connecting major markets with China and vice-versa, through Central Asia and to Europe.
Sun will spell out what this means for tourism and in particular the incentive conference and event sectors as a result of new connectivity with markets driving further growth in both outbound and inbound group movements.
An ICESAP spokesman says Sun is highly regarded in China as the mastermind behind the media management of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and remains China’s representative on the International Olympic Committee.
He "has contributed significantly to the development of the incentive, conference and events industry in China, and was previously the chairman of ICCA, SITE and SKAL’s China Committee".
The 4th Annual ICESAP Conference & Awards takes place September 6-8 at the W Hotel Shanghai – The Bund. Conference information, programme and registration details are available at icesap.org/conference
