Meet Taiwan unveils subsidies worth up to US$3,000 per group

Meet Taiwan has introduced two new schemes to encourage meetings and incentive planners to bring their groups to the destination.

Taiwan Value Go and the Taiwan Meeting and Incentive Rewards Program offer sponsorship and support for event organisers from overseas and their local partners.

Maximum subsidies of NT$100,000 (about US$3,000) are being made available for each meetings, incentive, conference or corporate event tour along with consultation on how groups can experience the range of culture, scenery, cuisine and activities in Taiwan.

“These two programmes aim to promote Taiwan as Asia’s premium destination for MICE, and to encourage multinational firms to choose Taiwan for their corporate meetings and incentive travels,” said a spokesman for Meet Taiwan, the project set up by foreign trade ministry officials to promote conferences and business event activities on the island.

Taiwan Value Go highlights cultural experiences that visitors can enjoy with itineraries centring on nine international exhibitions across Taiwan. Local partners and the event organisers in Taiwan can apply for sponsorship ranging from NT$10,000 to NT$100,000 depending on the size of the visiting groups.

Organisers of groups of more than 20 from foreign companies staying in Taiwan for two consecutive nights for a meeting, training, company visit, client award ceremony, or teambuilding activity can apply for support.

The Taiwan Meeting and Incentive Rewards Program consists of two parts: an inspection package and a group package. Applicants enjoy consultation from site inspection and partial subsidies for accommodation, flights, and dining from the inspection package.

Group package offers hospitality services for the guests, that includes welcome kits, souvenirs, special offers from local attractions, welcome banner, greeting letters from Meet Taiwan, publicity and Meet Taiwan granting group members access to discounts and special offers.
