Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is extending its reach into the business events market with a new corporate rewards scheme aimed at overseas groups.
The “Disney Magical Corporate Rewards” programme builds on the success of night-time buyouts of the theme park by local companies. Each of autumn buyout events has seen staff and clients entertained by the park’s shows and using the amusement rides.
The new programme offers overseas groups special privileges ranging from shopping and dining offers to unique entertainment experiences through a three-tier rewards scheme. Meetings and event facilities are also available at the resort’s hotels.
Karen Kwan, business solutions and events director at the resort, said: “Over the past 10 years, ongoing expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has delivered more than 100 attractions and entertainment offerings to enrich events content for corporate guests.
“As the demand for MICE experiences from overseas companies continues to grow, the ‘Disney Magical Corporate Rewards’ program will add Disney magical sparkles to every business event. We believe that the resort will continue to be the best MICE partner for companies in the region,” Kwan said.
Since February this year, Kwan said about 1,200 corporate guests from Southeast Asia and mainland China have used the corporate rewards programme. “The clients hail from banking, telecommunication and beauty industries. All corporate guests and event planners were highly satisfied with the programme,” she said.
The resort and theme park is preparing to unveil new entertainment this summer including shows based around Star Wars movie and the Iron Man Experience, based in the Marvel comics super-hero character.
A third hotel at the resort, the 750-room Disney Explorers Lodge, is due to open in 2017 with four themed gardens where corporate events can be staged.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s push towards corporate events comes as another Disney theme park is set to open in June.
