Gran Hotel Son Net Eyes Corporate Groups

MALLORCA, SPAIN – Set on a hill against the Tramuntana Mountains, a Unesco World Heritage Site, the Gran Hotel Son Net lends itself as a charming venue option for meeting groups.

The mansion dates back to 1672 and, after restoration efforts, was opened as a hotel in 1998. Its distinctive features have been retained, including the traditional interior courtyard, an olive oil press and extensive wine cellar. Located in its own private estate, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from the island's capital, Palma, and 25 minutes from the Palma International Airport.

Various events and activities can be staged throughout the premises. Indoor options include a conference room that can accommodate 35 people theatre style and the Oleum Restaurant, which seats 120; while a second function room and a mezzanine area each accommodates up to 40 people.

Outdoor spaces include terraces and a 30-metre swimming pool surrounded by private cabanas. All these venues combined, the hotel can cater to events for up to 150 people.

In fact, groups can also opt to take over the entire hotel, which is equipped with free wifi and has 31 suites and bedrooms. Rates, inclusive of accommodation and facilities, start from €7,500 (US$9,704) during low season and a minimum of three nights, to about €25,000 (US$32,345) during peak season.

General manager Bjorn Wild said that the property is offered in response to a growing interest in the venue for product launches, filming and special events and incentives. “We have unique connections on the island that can also provide some very unusual facilities and event ideas, from a personal PGA Tournament for golf pros to ancillary receptions in private fincas, personalised shopping experiences, yacht charters, classic car rides and helicopter tours.”
