E&O Express reveals latest charter offerings

SOUTHEAST ASIA Kick start or round off a corporate event with a trip onboard the Eastern Oriental Express, which has just announced a large selection of journeys across the sub-region.

The luxury train operators are known to personalise itineraries through Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos, offering the ultimate in corporate dining and entertainment.

With a capacity for up to 132 passengers, their colonial-style carriages permit groups to see the exotic landscapes of Southeast Asia through an extensive programme of exciting excursions, overnight off-train experience, while spicing the onboard experience with guest lecturers and a range of fun entertainment.

Alternatively, companies may choose a multi-day luxury river cruise along Myanmar’s Ayeyardy River on the 82-seater Road to Mandalay or its sister cruiser Orcaella (which will launch in July with a capacity for up to 50 people). Itineraries can include hot-air balloon rides over Bagan, trishaw tours, horsecart rides, bird watching, bike tours, lacqueware workshops, golf at Old Bagan, boat racing and holy temple dinners in Mandalay.

An example of a unique private hire on the Road to Mandalay offering involves setting up a typical Burmese feast on an empty stretch of sand on bamboo dining tables lit with Shan paper lanterns created by local artisans. Guests arrive by local wooden boats to enjoy the tea-cum-barbecue afternoon.
