PHUKET JW Marriott Phuket has gifted its meeting facilities with a major facelift, costing close to THB15 million (US$484,496).
“It needed to be done. For one, the ballroom was the same since we opened 10 years ago,” said Suchada Termtechatipong, senior public relations manager, Marriott International, Southeast Asia Office.
Advocating a "resort-style meeting by the beach experience", the resort has 10 meeting rooms of varying sizes and a ballroom that can fit 400 people for a banquet and 600 people for a reception. The entire conference space is conveniently located near the lobby and has a substantial indoor foyer area and an open-air terrace.
The refurbishment involved a complete carpet change and the installation of new foyer furniture. The ballroom received new partitions and fresh wallpaper. The resort also bought new buffet tables to go with the just introduced décor and upgraded the audiovisual equipment to enhance the event experience.
Event organisers can have a look at the different set-up and linen options at the newly added showcase room.
To mark the launch of the renovated function space, the property is offering a special half-day and full-day package starting from THB1,450 (US$47) per person and THB1,650 (US$53) per person respectively, inclusive of a meeting room with full set up.
Also, groups booking 30 guestrooms per night for events held before December 15, 2012 can enjoy a string of benefits. These include in-room internet, wireless internet for five users in a meeting room, one standard banner, upgrade on a themed coffee break, upgrade on a theme dinner (applies to groups of at least 100 people), fruit carving demonstration, free-flow of soft drinks for three hours during dinner, a 45-minute cocktail reception, and more. The number of applicable benefits will vary depending on the number of rooms booked. Meanwhile, the event planner also enjoy other perks, including complimentary four nights' accommodation, a two-hour Thai massage at Mandara Spa and double Marriott Rewards Points (up to 100,000 points).
