A DELEGATION of 100-plus international buyers will descend on Penang next month for the ninth Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE), joining 50 exhibitors from across Malaysia for three days of deal-making, networking and destination discovery.
Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) is scheduled to take place at Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, October 27-29, bringing together travel trade professionals from Malaysia and overseas for three days of business meetings, networking and destination experiences.
The buyers represent markets including China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Bangladesh, Australia, Romania and South Korea are expected, Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau said in a statement.
The delegation is set to include corporate, incentive and association buyers seeking new destinations, products and experiences for groups. Around 50 exhibitors from across Malaysia are also expected to participate, representing hotels, destination management companies, professional conference organisers, attractions and other travel businesses.
The programme will combine 1.5 days of pre-arranged business appointments followed by networking and destination experiences around Penang. Organisers say the format is designed to help suppliers connect directly with international decision-makers.

“PITE has evolved into an important platform for the tourism industry to connect, exchange ideas and create new business opportunities across borders,” said YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy.
“This year, we are particularly pleased to welcome a diverse group of buyers from both established and emerging markets, alongside Malaysian tourism industry players who are ready to showcase the breadth of products and experiences available across the country.”
The B2B programme will focus on helping exhibitors and buyers develop new business leads, explore partnerships and strengthen existing relationships through scheduled appointments.
