METT Singapore is marking the 100th anniversary of its heritage-listed building with 100 Years of Stories, a month-long programme of events taking place throughout September. The celebrations coincide with the centenary of the building, which was constructed in 1926 as the British Far East Command Headquarters and is located within Fort Canning Park.
The building has played several roles over the past century. Following World War II, it became the staff college for the Singapore Armed Forces before being vacated in 1973. Today, the property operates as METT Singapore, hosting accommodation, dining, wellness and private events.
The centenary programme will feature a series of events and activations across the property and surrounding parkland. Activities are designed to reflect the building’s history and its location within one of Singapore’s best-known heritage precincts.
A key component of the programme is Fitness at the Fort, a month-long wellness challenge organised by private members’ club Madison House. Guests and members can participate in six fitness classes to complete the challenge and become eligible for prizes including a hotel stay, club access passes and padel sessions.

The celebrations also coincided with the Fort Canning Park Heritage Festival.
Hotel guests can take part in a range of complimentary activities during the festival period, including guided tours of Fort Canning Park and workshops. These include the Crafting Botanical Soap Workshop and Through the Ages: Unwrapping Heritage Otah-Otah, which explores the site’s historical links to the regional spice trade.
Alongside the events programme, visitors can access hospitality and gathering spaces across the property, including Canning Bar & Lounge, which will offer special centenary promotions throughout September.
