Thailand steaming ahead to wellness

TCEB launches Meet Well campaign at AIME to give organisers more options for healthier itineraries including rail trips to Ayutthaya and other destinations paired with Bangkok

THAI business event officials are encouraging post-conference and incentive travel organisers to get on track by pairing Bangkok with smaller cities to create group itineraries that also promote wellness.

A scenic rail journey from Bangkok 80km north to the old Siamese capital of Ayutthaya is just one of the ideas from Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB)’s new “Meet Well” campaign.

The initiative, which was revealed yesterday at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) 2025, was created to help planners meet an increasing demand for wellness, community legacy and environmentally friendly activities.

More… Bangkok gives team spirit a spin

TCEB president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya said Meet Well was based on “real resources, professional collaboration and industry expertise in Thailand”.

“It can ensure our clients that holding events in Thailand can deliver mindful and meaningful MICE journeys [and] make Thailand a truly high-value-added destination,” he said.

The ideas are centred on three pillars:
Well Connected – Organisers can let delegates experience more than one city with experiences such as linking Bangkok with northern Chiang Mai, the royal retreat of Hua Hin, or Ayutthaya with its ancient and dramatic history.

“Bangkok-Ayutthaya is one example of a city-pairing MICE route made possible by train journey,” TCEB said in a statement.

Well-Balanced – Activities with a reduced impact on the environment are made possible by choosing “low-carbon MICE routes that enable groups to take part in community-driven sustainability programs”. These are co-developed by Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association with TCEB supporting organisers who want to reduce their event’s carbon footprint.

Heartfelt Welcome – This builds on Thai famed hospitality fast-track immigration processing for arriving groups, cultural performances, site inspections and more. Packages can also include special deals, tailored workshops and exclusive activities to help create memorable events.

Looking Back… Pattaya, Hua Hin, Bangkok to form new Thai MICE triangle

TCEB said the Meet Well campaign also “capitalises on Thailand’s world-renowned medical treatment” and luxury wellness products and services whether for “scientific means” or a holistic approach to wellness.

The bureau headed a group of 12 exhibitors from Bangkok and Phuket to Melbourne for AIME 2025.
