ONE OF Hong Kong’s most anticipated conferences aimed at highlighting the city’s global role as an air-cargo and airport innovation hub has won the backing of two powerhouses in China’s aviation industry.
Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA) and the International Cooperation and Service Centre – under the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) – have signed a cooperation agreement with Informa Markets to become strategic partners for Super Terminal Expo.
The expo and conference at Asia World-Expo, November 5-7, will come as work on the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport nears completion as the new Airport City takes shape.
Airport City will stretch from and expanded AsiaWorld-Expo through the 11 Skies retail and leisure development to link the area with the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge port facilities on one side and the world’s busiest air-cargo operations at the other. The area is set to drive Hong Kong’s role as a “super connector” across the Greater Bay Area while providing a regional and global air logistics link with China.
“Super Terminal Expo sets the stage for next-level airport design and operations across Asia by uniting leading solution airport technology and services providers with senior buyer teams from airports and vendors,” said Meng Qingfen, director general of the International Cooperation and Service Centre, CAAC.
“It provides a platform for the members of the China Civil Aviation ‘Belt and Road’ cooperation platform to better participate in international exchanges and showcase the latest development achievements of China’s civil aviation industry,” she said.

Apart from its 20,000 sqm exhibition area at AsiaWorld-Expo, Super Terminal Expo also includes a conference featuring more than 80 forums led by industry experts. Trends such as passenger experience innovations, terminal security, sustainability, advanced air mobility and intermodal cargo connections are due to be discussed.
