INTEGRATED resort operators Sands China has launched Summer Fiesta as part of its community efforts to help Macau widen its visitor economy beyond a reliance on casino revenue.
Sands China’s latest round of its Community Revitalisation Series has transformed the former Iec Long Firecracker Factory and the Taipa Houses with a display of installations open until May 31.
With Summer Fiesta, the company said it is bringing together the two areas to create a comfortable and pleasant urban oasis in Macao with a distinct garden atmosphere.

Work on Iec Long Zoo saw animal sculptures while over at Taipa a ”Love at Taipa Houses” theme was created.
Sands China has also organised complimentary family activities for both local residents and visitors as part of its commitment to promoting Macao locally and to tourists.
“A unique architectural style can still be seen at the former Iec Long Firecracker Factory, and its beautiful natural scenery makes it a significant area to be preserved and promoted,” said Wilfred Wong, executive vice chairman of Sands China.

“We are therefore transforming this remarkable area into a zoo-themed spot, while also enriching the romantic ambience at the Taipa Houses, in contribution to the city’s economic diversification. We hope locals and tourists alike enjoy the beauty of the attractive new installations at these historic Macao locations early this summer.”
Sands China also presented Todos Fest!, an inclusive arts festival aimed at spreading positivity in the community and promoting the idea of social inclusion across the city.
