Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou hosted the reception for the 2016 G20 Second Sherpa Meeting, which was attended by more than 400 representatives from 26 countries. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for China Li Baodong chaired the event.
An international forum for the governments and central bank governors from 20 major economies, the G20 was founded in 1999 with the aim of studying, reviewing and promoting high-level discussions of policy issues relating to international financial stability.
The hotel used all of its function rooms, turning 6,000 sqm of space into smaller meeting rooms and a grand meeting hall. The hotel also organised the catering for the event’s opening speech which took place on a night cruise on the Pearl River.
