Airline alliance Oneworld has upgraded its events arm, Oneworld events, a service that aims to streamline travel and booking services for registered meetings and events organisers.
Additional benefits were announced this week at Imex America in Las Vegas. They include the removal of fees on flight bookings made through the Oneworld website, discounts with nominated travel agencies and a wider network of venues across 55 locations.
The upgrades arrive on the back of significant additions to the alliance, with 15 airlines joining in the past two years. Director of sales at Oneworld, José María Alvarado, said: “The recent record-breaking growth of our alliance has expanded the range of destinations covered by Oneworld events to almost a thousand in more than 150 countries.
"It is very clear that event organisers and delegates love the attractive flight discounts the programme offers on a collection of some of the world's leading airlines, to say nothing of the program's ease of use and the many other benefits oneworld events provides.”
Since its launch in May 2013, the initiative has attracted over 100 large-scale conferences and exhibitions, with a minimum of 100 international delegates from at least two regions.
