pentahotel Beijing’s event space spells fun

BEIJING The Game Room at pentahotel in downtown Beijing is a marvelous find for companies scouting for a venue with a relaxed vibe.

Located on the ground floor, it is a place where in-house guests can chill and make use of the pool table, dart board, Wii console, two internet-enabled workstations, comfy sofas, tables and chairs. The facility forms part of the 307-room hotel's "pentalounge concept" – an all-in-one hub featuring cafe dining, a delicatessen, a noodle bar, library and sitting area.

"The Game Room is such a cool place that quite a few companies have booked it for their events," hotel manager Jeraldine Tan told Mix. The venue can take up to 40 people and be reconfigured to specific requirements, as well as accommodate the needed meeting equipment from built-in projectors, motorised screens to flipcharts.

Companies conducting meetings and seminars in one of the four Studio Rooms are likely to be enchanted by the Time Out Zone, an intimate coffee break area, that boasts a football table and a popcorn-making machine, along with two flat-screen TVs that air sports and MTV programmes. To complement the laid back ambiance, the F&B team can design a menu blending Asian and Western comfort foods. Groups also have the option to enjoy a standard tea and coffee set up in the meeting room. The capacity of the hotel's Studio Rooms range between 24 and 40 people.

Pentahotel is conceptualised as "your neighbourhood lifestyle hotel" combining fun with functionality, comfort and creativity, and style and simplicity.

The one-year-old property is located in Chongwenmen, Dongcheng District. It is adjacent to the New World Department Store and within walking distance of major tourist attractions such as the Pearl Market. It likewise has easy access to the Chongwenmen Metro Station Line 2 and Line 5.
