HONG KONG Companies looking to unwind after an intense brainstorming session or meeting should check out the rooftop bar at the 47th floor of the newly opened Crowne Plaza Kowloon East in Tseung Kwan O.
Those keen to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, yet experience a trendy, five-star feel, then Cielo, the Italian alfresco dining restaurant and bar, is the place for a terrific night out.
Serving home-style dishes and specialty pasta along with a wide range of wine and signature mocktails such as TKO Fizz and Brunico, the tastefully decorated Cielo has a total capacity for 100 people. Forty can fit for indoor dining, while 60 people can enjoy their drinks while contemplating the sceniv view of Junk Bay.
The 359-room hotel is the first upscale branded property in the fast-developing Tseung Kwan O district, which lies east of Kowloon. Its sister property, Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Kowloon East stands nearby providing an additional 300 guestrooms to the ar3ea.
"We are expecting a very strong demand in corporate, MICE and leisure markets with vibrant and emerging business activities in Kowloon East comprising of the former Kai Tak Airport, Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay, and the completing of Kai Tak cruise terminal in mid-2013," said Dominique Berhouet, general manager of Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East.
As for other event spaces within the hotel, the 1,030 sqm grand ballroom on the ground floor can hold up to 960 peope for banquets and 1,500 for receptions. It can be divided into three for smaller gatherings. The grand ballroom comes with a built-in LCD projectors with multiple drop-down large-format screens, a cloak room and three en-suite VIP rooms. The spacious pre-function area, which has a floor-to-ceiling bay windows on one side the leads to an outdoor patio, is ideal for tea and coffee breaks.
There are eight meeting rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor with sizes ranging between 47 sqm and 82 sqm for groups of 10 to 80 people. Some rooms can be combined to make for a larger space.
The third-floor The Garden, which measures a total to 236 sqm can hold 128 people theatre style and 220 for cocktails. Its lush greenery makes for a relaxing event.
Until June 30, 2013, a full-day meeting package is priced from HK$600 (US$77) per person inclusive of lunch and coffee break.
