Historical Charter Experience launches in Halong Bay

Emeraude Classic Cruises has launched a new overnight charter service targeted at incentive groups. The vessel is a replica of the historic paddle steamer of the same name that operated in Halong Bay between 1906 and 1937. The new Emeraude has been designed around the same classic aesthetic of the old-world vessel. Guests can expect to be transported back to the colonial era of Indochina with high polished wooden floors and brass fittings encased in the all white hull of Emeraude.

Able to accommodate up to 74 passengers, the vessel features 12 superior cabins, 22 deluxe cabins and three suites. Alongside the sailing experience, groups can take advantage of customised itineraries that include tai-chi and cooking classes, spa treatments, kayaking, film screenings and stopovers at hidden beaches, caves and coves. The vessel is owned and operated by The Apple Tree Group, a French-owned, Ho Chi Minh City-based company whose other hospitality properties also include La Residence Hotel & Spa in Hue and the Press Club in Hanoi, winner of the Vietnam Economic Times “Best International Restaurant” for six consecutive years. Marcel Issak, executive chef of the Press Club is also in charge of the Emeraude’s on-board catering.

Overnight charters of the Emeraude are priced from US$12,000 to US$13,500
