The Myanmar branch of ASIA DMC is putting remote and authentic experiences at the forefront of its meetings and incentives offerings with the launch of a series of local adventure programmes.
The new ‘Authentic Odysseys Myanmar’ series showcases traditional cultural experiences and lesser-visited areas of the country through full- or multi-day itineraries.
“It has become increasingly difficult for customers to experience a true, local, authentic travel experience in Myanmar,” says ASIA DMC Myanmar managing director Gerben Bloemendaal (left).
“We are very excited to provide travellers with this opportunity and look forward to offering even more experiences within Myanmar.”
The DMC is utilising its relationships with local families and individuals to offer these bespoke experiences.
Itinerary ideas
Experiences range from a traditional medicine tour in Yangon to an off-the-beaten-track safari in Bagan.
The ‘Yangon Art Gallery Tour’ exposes groups to Yangon’s thriving art scene through gallery tours and meetings with leading artists. Delegates in Mandalay can volunteer as teachers at a local Buddhist monastic school where ASIA DMC donate schoolbooks.
“It is a destination that offers an extraordinary opportunity to tour operators,” says Bloemendaal. “There is a lot of potential with the right relationships in place and knowledge of the country. We are pleased to be able to offer both of these key elements along with our long term view to give back, work with communities and offer sustainable travel experiences.”
