MMP China rallies powerhouse panels

Conference and exhibition from the organisers behind ITB China makes its debut with the Global Business Travel Association, UFI board member Michael Kruppe and Singapore Tourism Board Edward Koh among the big names

MICE Meeting Point gets underway next week at the Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing with a two-day event that promises to be a focal gathering for business event and corporate travel professionals. 

Organised by ITB China, the MMP conference and exhibition will feature a blend of forums, exhibitions, and panel discussions aimed at dissecting the current state and future trajectory of the industry.

Conference panels on September 11-12 are structured around three parallel forums integrated with the exhibition space, allowing for an exchange of ideas among Chinese and international stakeholders. Discussions will centre on market trends, innovation, and strategic development, with a particular emphasis on China’s evolving role in the global MICE landscape.

A key session on the afternoon of September 11 – titled “China’s MICE on the Global Stage: A New Role, A New Network – will explore how urban resources, technology, and cultural assets can be leveraged to enhance China’s international image and competitiveness. The panel will be moderated by Li Zhuyuan, Executive President and Secretary-General of the MICE Committee of the China Association of Travel Services.

Another panel, hosted by ITB China and led by Lydia Li of Messe Berlin China, will examine how industry associations can support Chinese enterprises in organising events abroad. The discussion will feature voices from across the region, including Edward Koh of Singapore Tourism Board, Ning Wang of the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, Michael Kruppe of SNIEC, Jack Yao of the CCOIC Commercial Chamber of Commerce, and Yuansheng Li of the China Association of Metros.

On September 12, the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) will host its Business Travel Forum as a parallel session. This segment will include keynote speeches and roundtables led by GBTA board member Michael Du, alongside contributions from Visa’s Irene Ma, Elle Ng-Darmawan of GBTA Asia Pacific, Koko Tang of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, Samuel Wang of Adient, Grace Xiang of Accor, and Max Sun of Trip.Biz
