HONG KONG A whiff of the Mediterranean is the unique proposition of Riviera Orientale Yachting Society – a luxury yacht charter outfit newly come to Hong Kong.
Eric Noyel, company founder and a cruising aficionado, told Mix that he saw the need for such vessels, drawing from his experience of partying on "junk boats that were too slow and not stylish at all".
He added: "It's difficult to have a relaxing day on junk boats."
Numarine 78HT in action
Having recently acquired the state-of-the-art Numarine 78HT in purple and white – dubbed Hip Nautist – Noyel decided to pursue his ambition to provide a fleet of luxury yachts for individuals and groups wanting a different environment for corporate entertaining. Under Riviera Orientale are his Hip Nautist plus 13 other boats, all docked in Hong Kong.
Capacities vary since the yacht are of different sizes, but Noyel's 80-foot yacht can acommodate beween 12 and 20 guests for banquet seating, and 40 guests if it's cocktails. Quality catering and entertainment can be handled by the customer or left to Riviera Orientale staff.
Meeting set ups can be arranged on either of the two decks in the fore and aft. There is already a 42-inch flatscreen in the main cabin, and another flatscreen can be set up on the front deck if the brainstorming is an alfresco one. A karaoke system can also be organised.
For a really intimate group of up to six persons that may want to hold overnight strategic planning sessions, there are four bedrooms below deck to share.
Said Noyel: "Not many people realise that Hong Kong boasts scenery along its coasts that is simply amazing. Through our cruises, I want them to come back surprised and return for more."
