Reed Travel Exhibitions has officially announced a new event director for ibtm China following the departure of Cici Chen.
Christine Guan, formerly a managing director with Sino Exhibitions International, replaces Chen as event director for ibtm China, the annual incentive, business travel and meetings show organised in Beijing by Reed Travel Exhibitions.
A statement issued by Reed on July 28 said Guan had more than 20 years’ experience in B2B events in China, including most recently with Sino Exhibition International, UBM, and also from within the Reed Exhibitions’ portfolio.
“Christine brings with her an in-depth understanding of the B2B events market, with a real focus on delivering an incredibly high quality end-to-end customer experience through every touch point,” said Kerry Prince, portfolio director for ibtm events.
“Christine is extremely well qualified to take the reins at ibtm China and we’re looking forward to another successful edition this August in Beijing and to continuing to grow and evolve the event in the future.”

Ibtm China takes place August 23-24 at the China National Convention Centre, Beijing. Reed says the event is the No.1 event for the region’s MICE industry and more than 5,500 meetings industry professional across the world are expected to attend.
Meanwhile, Reed has promoted Angela Sciacca to project manager for the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meeting Expo (AIME). The 2018 edition of the show will be the last one for Reed as it steps aside from managing the event, which takes place February 20-21, 2018, at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Sciacca has worked as the operations manager for AIME since 2004 and has been in the exhibition industry since 1992. Reed says she has a clear understanding of the needs of exhibitors and delegates and will be a key driver of the new initiatives for 2018.
