THE OLDEST PCO in Australia and New Zealand is preparing for a historic June by holding three big conferences starting on the same day.
ICMSA staff will be working at registration desks in Brisbane and Melbourne on June 26 to help process close to 5,000 delegates attending three separate meetings:
- International Conference on Conversation Analysis at the University of Queensland;
- The 26th World Mining Congress at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, and…
- The University of Melbourne MD Student Conference.
The four-day World Mining Congress expects 3,000 delegates attending almost 50 plenary keynotes and panel sessions, along with 1,200 presentations in 13 industry streams. A 120-booth exhibition is also being held.
The PCO, which has been in business for 57 years, is also looking forward to another busy month in July, with two of the three international meetings for that calendar month again starting on the same day.

“I know that as a professional conference organiser this is what we live for: all of the meticulous planning, the committee meetings, the conference programme, the work on the social programmes, budgets, and sourcing and securing sponsors all leads to this one multi-day event,” Emma Bowyer, owner and managing director of ICMSA, said.
“It’s exciting to see it all come together and we’re fortunate that we have the skilled staff to be able to manage three complex programs in the one week in June.”
