Hong Kong-based events agency Clearwater Communications is due to create its own event series, which will aim to create networking opportunities between existing clients while "exercising our own vision of events and positioning ourselves as thought leaders in the industry," says managing director Min Liu.
The agency provides services in three main areas, Brand Activation, Live Events and Events Creation, and is due to bring on a Content Strategist who will be tasked with designing knowledge-sharing events and networking opportunities for senior industry decision-makers in the region.
CwC’s first live event was organised for advertising company GroupM in Bali, attended by 1,000 delegates during the course of the week, including WPP’s founder Sir Martin Sorrell, 21st Century Fox’s Lachlan Murdoch and external partners such as Google, Facebook, Youku and Fox International Channels. Other clients include DHL, GroupM, Novartis and InterContinental Hotel Group.
“Our clients see us as long-term partners and we have been working closely with their extended teams,” says Liu. She adds, “We are not trying to be different… I don’t think the industry needs an agency that’s different, just one that is good at what they say they do.”
She adds, “We may be a boutique agency, but we have big aspirations – for ourselves, for our clients and for the company. We aim to grow stronger, but not very much bigger, as we revel in that we have a small group of great clients we enjoy working with.”
