Selected from 61 applicants by an external panel of industry professionals, Genie Watch, a digital solutions provider for the events industry, has been selected as this year’s winner of EIBTM’s Technology Watch. The company’s marketing automation and personalisation tool, Marketing Connect has caught the attention of the judges, who scored the entries based upon the following criteria: innovation, completeness of concept, and the value of the product to the meetings industry.
Marketing Connect was deemed to be the only product of its kind for the business events industry. The service uses time and action-based triggers for automated marketing campaigns. Promotions start when the user interacts with the event tool, clicks on a link, signs into the web portal or downloads the app. Giles Welch, chief executive officer of Genie Connect, commented, “We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award for our exciting new offering, Marketing Connect. We’ve seen first-hand the difficulties our customers have faced with traditional event email marketing and being able to personalise communications based on behaviour brings event marketing in line with the most successful digital marketing approaches in business today.”
Genie Connect will present its winning product at EIBTM 2013 in the new Innovation Zone. As part of the award, Genie Connect will receive a stand within the Technology and Events Services area of the show floor, stand N107, as well as marketing and promotions to the meetings and events industry.
In addition to the overall winner, the EIBTM Technology Watch award also awarded four honourable mentions whose entries highlighted significant technology trends within the industry. These included, TapCrowd, Poll Everywhere, Social Tables and Conferize.
The EIBTM Technology Watch Award is the most high profile and longest running recognition scheme for innovation in the meetings industry worldwide.
