ICMSA shines at Diamond Jubilee

ICMS Australasia celebrated its 60 year anniversary at a glittering event at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth last night with 120 attendees including past and current clients and staff, former owners, and legends of the business events sector.

Established on January 28, 1966, ICMSA is the longest established PCO in Australia.

CEO and Owner Emma Bowyer said she felt privileged to recognise such a company milestone.

“Being able to continue the legacy of a company that was a trailblazer 60 years ago and still is today, brings me enormous pride,” she said.

“So much has changed since 1966, but our core reason for our existence – to create an environment in which people can share their valuable knowledge with their peers and communities to better our society – remains the same.

“This is what continues to drive the team and I every day.”

At the celebration, guests were invited on an emotional journey through architectural lighting, projection and a soundscape of nostalgic recordings before being encased in a refraction of light, symbolic of the diamond, through a string quartet and a visual feast.

Following the short formal proceedings, attendees were then treated to an extraordinary performance on a Grand Piano from CJ Jones, a 16-year-old protégé from Tasmania.

Toward the end of the night, the tempo, scale and energy rose to a crescendo with a 14-piece show of Moulin Rouge, revealing the brilliance of colour and optimism befitting the Diamond Soiree.

Bowyer also thanked the team at Encore for bringing her vision for the 60th anniversary event to light.
