LANGHAM Hospitality Group has appointed Nils-Arne Schroeder a chief operating officer based at the group’s Hong Kong headquarters as it accelerates the expansion of its global hotel and residences portfolio.
Schroeder will report directly to chief executive Bob van den Oord and oversee operations across the group’s existing and pipeline properties.
A key part of his remit will be supporting the opening and integration of more than 20 properties currently under development, including the Langham Group’s first hotel in Thailand and new openings in China this year. The pipeline also includes projects in Italy and Malaysia scheduled for 2027 and Saudi Arabia in 2028.

Schroeder brings more than three decades of international hospitality experience to the Hong Kong-based company at a time when it is broadening its presence in new markets.
He most recently served as Senior Vice President, Operations, Europe and Africa for Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. Before that, he was Senior Vice President, Operations, Asia, Middle East and Africa for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than 20 years with Hilton, where he held hotel, regional and brand leadership positions across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. His final role with the company was Vice President, Luxury and Lifestyle, Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore, while simultaneously serving as Global Brand Head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.

Schroeder’s experience spans commercial performance, brand positioning, business development and hotel openings.
