PAOLA CACIOLLI has been appointed general manager of Conrad Kuala Lumpur ahead of its scheduled opening in the fourth quarter of 2026. The property will be the first Conrad in Malaysia with plans for it to be a flagship for the brand in Southeast Asia.
The appointment reflects a leadership track record shaped by more than two decades working across diverse markets in Asia and Europe, including China, where she has been involved in hotel openings and brand development in complex operating environments.

Caciolli began her career with Hilton in operations and events roles, building a foundation in front-line delivery before moving into senior leadership and general management positions.
Her experience spans more than 26 years across markets including China, Italy, the United Kingdom and France, covering pre-openings, operations, commercial strategy and guest experience. She has held senior roles within Hilton’s luxury portfolio, including Waldorf Astoria, and has been responsible for introducing brands into new destinations.
In China, Caciolli worked on projects such as Waldorf Astoria Beijing, where she was part of leadership teams managing luxury operations in a highly competitive market.
This cross-regional background has been a consistent feature of her career, with responsibilities covering mature markets and emerging destinations. Her work has included leading hotel openings, developing positioning strategies and building teams in multicultural environments.
Caciolli has been leading the pre-opening of Conrad Kuala Lumpur since 2021, drawing on experience from previous first-to-market projects and flagship launches.
Her approach combines operational discipline with an understanding of cultural nuance, shaped by years working across different regions. This is expected to inform the development of the Kuala Lumpur property as it enters the Southeast Asia market.
“Kuala Lumpur is one of Asia’s most fascinating and culturally layered cities, with an energy shaped by many perspectives and traditions,” said Caciolli. “As Conrad’s first hotel in Malaysia, we have an opportunity to create something that feels deeply connected to the city while introducing a new expression of contemporary luxury hospitality.”
