THE TROPICAL Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, renowned as an international resort, is now being established on Asia’s MICE map – as JW Marriott’s latest selection of images Showing Off the property testifies.
JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa has released images of its spaces available for conference and corporate event hire, with decor based on a creative concept from designer Bill Bensley.
Set along Vietnam’s Emerald Bay, the resort takes the form of a fictional 19th-century university to give business events a creative campus feel.
Events can extend beyond traditional meeting rooms and across the nine-hectare beachfront estate with a variety of playfully themed open-air venues.
A university-style running track offers a unique backdrop for themed celebrations or group activities, while the front lawn is framed by a dramatic Vietnamese imperial gate to create a striking sense of arrival.
More than 1,400 sqm of flexible meeting space is set across six venues, including the grand Lamarck Ballroom, a high-ceilinged space accommodating up to 600 delegates alongside five breakout rooms designed for more focused sessions.
A JW Marriott spokesperson says the ballroom carries a sense of quiet grandeur, equally suited to polished conferences and evening galas, while the breakout rooms take on more individual character, ranging from an artist’s studio to a theatre-inspired green room, offering settings that feel considered rather than conventional.
