THAILAND has cemented its position as a “premier and preferred MICE and mega-event destination” with the kingdom’s convention bureau announcing a string of high-profile wins for fiscal year 2025.
Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) officials said hosting rights for 30 major international conferences and mega-events, have been secured during the year, signalling robust confidence from global organisers.

According to TCEB, the events – spanning meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions, and “mega-events” – are projected to attract 109,000 participants and generate an estimated THB9.8 billion (about USD806 million) in economic impact. The calendar stretches well into 2029, which TCEB says underscores long-term trust in event Thailand’s capabilities.
“FY2025 demonstrated Thailand’s strategic vision and strong appeal as a host for a series of future international MICE and mega-events,” said Supawan Teerarat, President of TCEB. “Securing hosting rights in the financial year 2025 illustrates global confidence in our MICE ecosystem and underscores TCEB’s commitment to leveraging MICE as a catalyst for professional, business and economic growth, enhancing Thailand’s reputation and influence on the global stage for years to come.”
Among the headline wins:
- Amway Leadership Seminar 2026 in Bangkok, drawing over 10,000 delegates from China.
- International Dragon Award Annual Conference 2027, expected to bring 7,500 overseas participants.
- Gastech 2026, a major energy exhibition, set to attract 50,000 attendees.
- Two mega-events: Spartan SUPER World Championship in Chiang Rai (2026–2028), welcoming 60,000 athletes and delegates from 50 countries, and Tough Mudder in Pattaya, with 16,000 participants.
- Other aloe events include the World Boxing Council Annual Convention 2025, Federation of Asia Pharmaceutical Associations’ FAPA Congress 2026, Asian Pacific Orthodontic Congress 2028, and the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery Congress (WSRM) 2029.
“Winning the rights to host conferences over the next four years, such as WSRM 2029, demonstrates strong international confidence in the country as a premier and preferred MICE destination,” Supawan added.
She highlighted collaborations with government agencies and tailored experiences – such as the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s “Slow Living of Bangkok” programme – as proof of Thailand’s ability to deliver world-class standards across the country.
“These successes reflect a collaborative MICE ecosystem that ensures events meet evolving business needs,” Supawan said. “From Gastech, involving the Ministry of Energy, to the Amway Leadership Seminar with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s tailored ‘Slow Living of Bangkok’ programme, the kingdom showcases trusted capability, professionalism, and world-class standards. Meanwhile, the northern city of Chiang Rai hosting the Spartan SUPER World Championship from 2026 to 2028 underscores the nation’s capability to deliver major events beyond the capital.”
