On 25 November 2014, literary event series Open Book Asia launched its first event with Michael Buckley, author of Tibet's first guide book and Meltdown in Tibet, a book that reports on China's ecocide of the Tibetan plateau. Open Book Asia hosted an intimate group of 30 at the Timothy Oulton Gallery on St Francis Street, Wanchai, with drinks supplied by Grand Vin Wine Merchants and a rustic cheese board by Pomegranate Kitchen for guests to enjoy after the discussion.
