Former Malaysian Convention and Exhibition Bureau business events stalwart named as executive director of industry association

30 Jan 2019

HO YOKE PING is the new executive director of MACEOS – the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers.

Ping moves to her new position from MyCEB (Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau) where she was general manager of business events.

Her new role will entail enhancing the profile of MACEOS in the business events industry through strategic plans including communications, government relations, partnerships and collaborations.

She has built a wealth of knowledge and management skills, having served the meetings, events and tourism industry for more than 20 years. MyCEB has grown under her leadership of nearly a decade and its profile heightened internationally and in Malaysia.

Vincent Lim, president of MACEOS said: “Ping’s reputation in the industry is formidable and it is an honour to have her on board the association. With her, we are in the strong opinion that MACEOS will be able to strategically move forward as not only her experience counts, but her ability to harness the support of many parties through her consistent good work will be in favour to grow the association to the next level”.

Ping commented: “I have worked with MACEOS countless times previously and have a good understanding of where the association wants to elevate for both itself and the industry.

“It is a crucial moment and important for MACEOS to continue to lead in communicating the value of business events to Malaysians and beyond. I am looking forward to contributing my insights and strategic visions to further position MACEOS as the voice,” she said.
In addition to being part of MyCEB’s founding team, Ping is a past chair of the ICCA Malaysia committee and played key roles in establishing the Malaysia Society of Association Executives and the Business Events Council of Malaysia.
