Opportunities to network with global investors are among the benefits of a new start-up incubator facility aimed at meetings, incentives and events industry entreprenuers.

Brand activation company Pico is offering the 3,000 sqm P3 Space at its creative centre in Shanghai to encourage innovation in the MICE industry. P3 Space is part of the company’s "P3 Innovation” which promises to deliver a “brand new generation of disruptive service offerings”.

Work at the Pico Creative Centre in Shanghai’s Jiading district will encourage start-up to develop virtual and augmented reality, big-data tools and applications, internet services, creative visual applications, the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence among other disruptive technologies.

As well as providing back office support, Pico will also offer consulting services to entrepreneurs, assist them with brand promotion through our global integrated marketing services, and help them explore business opportunities with Pico’s existing customers and businesses.

In addition to being backed by funding from the group, participating entrepreneurs will also benefit from the opportunity to network with global investors, a company spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the company planned to incubate more than 20 new MICE ventures in the first year alone. Pico will offer funding, consulting and brand promotion services, and will help to foster relationships between participating entrepreneurs and company clients.

The spokesperson added that P3 Space would be the first of multiple services that the company planned to roll out, aimed at promoting the development of innovation and technology and business transformation in the MICE industry.

Lim Chiew Wee, executive director of Pico, said: “This year’s G20 blueprint identified ‘innovation-driven growth’ as a key call to action. For Pico, innovation has always been an essential component of advancement and business transformation.

“P3 Space was launched to house and boost innovation and collaboration and will be an effective vehicle to boost the incubation of new creative and innovative business ideas,” Mr Lim said.

“It will also provide a platform for Pico to collaborate with partners in our industry’s ‘ecosystem’. The success of this collaboration will in turn help our company and our partners advance and transform.”
