Incentive, Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific unveils speaker line-up for Shanghai conference

18 Jul 2017

The Incentive, Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP) has named the speaker line-up for its conference at the W Shanghai-The Bund, September 6-8.

Sun Weijia, director general, counsellors’ office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China will explain the “Belt and Road” projects impact on the meetings, incentives and business events.

China’s trade-route initiative – also known as the New Silk Route – involves the building of six major economic corridors. These would provide secure and efficient transport routes connecting major markets with China and vice-versa, through Central Asia and to Europe.

An ICESAP spokesman says Sun is highly regarded in China as the mastermind behind the media management of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and remains China’s representative on the International Olympic Committee. He “has contributed significantly to the development of the incentive, conference and events industry in China, and was previously the chairman of ICCA, SITE and SKAL’s China Committee”.

Jack Yao, of the China Chamber of International Commerce, will lead a session on “Making Compliance a Priority for MICE Agencies in China”.

A panel session on Data Privacy and Protection led by Isabelle Hajjar, general counsel with Pivot88, follows. Megan Harris, corporate trainer and head, sales and marketing with William Angliss Institute, will then provide an updates on IC&E Certification Driving Professionalism.

After a networking lunch, a China customer’s panel session will be led by Alicia Yao, managing director, IME Consulting on China Market Challenges and Opportunities: The Chinese Customer’s Perspective. The expert panel includes Bert Li, of Amway China; Jason Yin, of Ergo-China Life Insurance; Justine Zhou, of Merck and Yuan Hao, chairman, China MICE Committee.

Conference information, programme and registration details are available here.
