Online travel specialist and Thailand-based Minor Hotels to launch booking system for MICE planners

22 Nov 2017

Online travel brand Expedia and Minor Hotels have announced a strategic alliance that will expand their collaboration to make “RFPs a thing of the past”.

Minor Hotels is the first hotel group to launch Expedia’s MICE solution in Asia Pacific following the online operator’s earlier success in Europe

Through the collaboration, Minor’s Anantara and Oaks brands will go live with the white-label MICE technology. By visiting the hotels’ websites, planners can instantly check availability and pricing information and independently configure and book meeting rooms, accommodation, food and equipment.

“The dynamic platform accelerates and simplifies a process which has been largely manual, inefficient and time-consuming for hotels and event planners,” an Expedia spokesman said, adding that it was “the first tool that truly automates the booking process for meeting organisers and hotels in real time, making RFPs a thing of the past”.

Maxim El Masri, Expedia senior director for Asia Pacific, said the solution “presents a huge technological leap from the manual, inefficient processes that still exist widely within the hotel meetings industry”.
